Radio talk show host Bob Lonsberry, who has been very popular on two local stations, but is currently not on the air in Utah wrote an excellent column on why people should carry legal self defense weapons. Check it out at: http://www.lonsberry.com/writings.cfm?story=3293

“I believe every man and woman should work toward being in a situation that they can always, at a moment’s notice, put their hand on a gun. That is not fear, that is strength. That is not paranoia, that is preparation. That is a reasonable reaction to the daily parade of crime stories from across the country.

If crime can reach out and touch you at any moment, isn’t it prudent to be able to reach out and touch it back?

If home invasion, carjacking and other types of crime are common occurences — and they are — shouldn’t we be ever ready to successfully repel a violent attack against us?

If you come home at night and somebody’s waiting in your garage, if somebody creeps into your house in the night, if somebody grabs you as you’re out for a run, if somebody tries to strong arm you out of your car or your purse, what’s your play? What is your play to make sure you survive?”

This brief video interview confirms what you already know. Criminals do not obey gun laws. Disarmed victims are easy targets. This is why USSC fights so hard to protect the rights of law abiding citizens to own guns for self defense and other lawful uses.

Hard-working attorney Curt Crowley was at the office late one evening when he heard a filing cabinet open and close.

Knowing he should be the only one in the office, he retrieved his .40-cal. handgun, peered out the door and discovered a burglar rifling through cabinets.

“I told him to freeze, but not in language you can repeat,” Crowley recalled. “He ended up begging me not to kill him.”

Crowley held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.
